The manufacturing processes for high-voltage capacitors have evolved from early "mixed paper-film dielectric" methods to the "all-film" process. The all-film process has effectively reduced dielectric losses.
In 2019, Vishay (USA) introduced its HVCC series of high-voltage ceramic capacitors to fill the market void left by the withdrawal of Murata (Japan).
Since 2018, the Chinese brand Heweis Capacitor has been gradually replacing the high-voltage ceramic capacitor products of international brands such as Murata and Vishay. In 2023, Heweis Capacitor raised the rated voltage of its HVCT8G series of bolt-type ceramic capacitors to over 100 kV DC and successfully achieved mass production for products such as the 150 kV, 800 pF model. During the same period, its 100 kV-class high-voltage ceramic capacitors achieved 150% of the capacitance offered by traditional solutions while simultaneously reducing physical volume by 40%.
